As an audit shareholder and head of the firm’s governmental audit practice, Ed Tracy directs the supervision of audit engagements, the majority of which are in the government and non-profit sector, with the balance focused on the manufacturing, franchising and communications industries. This balanced mix of work and clients proves advantageous to clients, as solutions generated in one sector often benefit clients in another. In addition to his role as an accountant, Ed especially enjoys serving as a sounding board for his clients, and helps them develop creative solutions for broader management and business issues.

Ed earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois. He joined Selden Fox in 1988. Ed is currently the designated audit quality shareholder for Selden Fox with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Governmental Audit Quality Center. He is also a member of the Illinois CPA Society, for which he has served on the Governmental Report Review Task Force, and is a reviewer in the Government Finance Officers Association’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program. He successfully completed the AICPA’s Not-for-Profit Certificate II Program.

Outside the office, Ed enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, including triplets. An avid Chicago Cubs and Bulls fan, he enjoys golfing and finds time to coach and participate with his kids in various sports and activities in the community.
