As a shareholder, Steve Pierson is responsible for coordinating tax services for many of our manufacturing, distribution and service clients. With more than 30 years of experience as a tax professional in public accounting, including 11 years as a partner with a national public accounting firm, Steve provides clients with a wide array of technical accounting, tax, financial, estate and succession planning, employee benefits, and international tax planning expertise, as well as merger and acquisition transaction guidance.
Over the course of his career serving clients, Steve has learned that becoming familiar with all aspects of a client’s operation produces more advantageous, creative solutions. He is proactive in searching for federal and state income tax, estate tax, international and sales tax savings, including implementation of creative tax planning strategies. In addition to handling the U.S. and foreign tax compliance regulations involved in annual filings, Steve has conducted numerous tax research projects and requested several IRS letter rulings for clients.
Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting with honors from Wartburg College. He is a member of the Illinois CPA Society, the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants — for which he has served on the Tax Legislation and Employee Benefits committees. Steve has also served on the Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago.
