Selden Fox is excited to announce that John E. Rainis, CPA has joined the firm as Director of Club Practice.

With the addition of John, Selden Fox now boasts one of the most seasoned club expert in Chicagoland. In his more than 35 years of public practice, John has served more than 50 private city and country clubs, translating into involvement in more than 1,000 club audits and attendance at hundreds of board and finance committee meetings. This level of involvement has provided John with a thorough understanding of the issues clubs face and how these issues have been addressed by club boards. He is also well versed in tax laws impacting clubs and has been involved in IRS audits of clubs. John regularly consults clubs on a broad range of topics and has performed numerous special projects for clubs. John has been a featured speaker at the Chicago District Golf Association Officers’ & Directors’ Workshop, Club Accountants’ Association meetings, and Club Managers Association of America events.

John is a member of the Club Accountant’s Association of America. He earned a degree in accounting from North Central College. John is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Illinois CPA Society.
