Chicago has seen an 18 percent growth in its technology ecosystem in the last decade compared to a 1 percent growth in the overall economy, according to the Chicago Tech Effect report from Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and HR&A Advisors. Chicago is one of America’s leading tech hubs with 18% growth in the tech workforce in the last decade. The city of Chicago and the State of Illinois host several technology industry focused associations. Here we look at just a few organizations that tech industry companies can turn to for guidance and direction.
- Illinois Technology Association (ITA) – ITA is a membership-based organization that prides itself on being a driving force behind the advancement of Illinois’ vibrant technology industry. Providing programs and services focused on development, visibility and talent attraction, ITA’s mission is focused on growth acceleration of technology companies across the state.
- P33 Chicago – P33 is an intentional and collaborative effort led by Chicago business and tech leaders across the private and public-sector to build Chicago’s recognition as a tier-one tech hub.
- Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA) -TMA is an independent trade organization exclusively focused on assisting and promoting small and mid-size manufacturers by providing a diverse portfolio of industry-specific benefits and services. TMA partners with small and midsize manufacturers to assist them in maintaining and growing their businesses by providing practical solutions.
- Chicago Council on Science and Technology (C2ST) – C2ST’s mission is to inspire and engage all segments of society about science and technology and their contributions to society. Since its inception, the organization has worked to engage with the Chicagoland community on vital STEM issues.
